Every great story has its roots, and ours begins with a determined boy of 16.
Our Founder, Mr. S. Manikandan, from Karaikudi, was driven by the sheer necessity to survive. He left the familiarity of home and came to Chennai, where he took on construction jobs and learned the trade from the ground up.
Those early years taught him more than just the realities of construction. They taught him discipline and the value of earning trust through hard work. Four years later, at just 21, he took a leap of faith and started his own venture.
That small beginning in the late 1980s laid the foundation for what is today Jai Infra. Over the past 30+ years, our journey has evolved from building, to contracting, and eventually to property promotion and development, growing with every project, every challenge, and every relationship we built along the way.
Over the years, Mr. Manikandan took on projects that became defining milestones in Jai Infra’s growth. From SRM University, Trichy Campus, Jaya Group of Institutions, Velammal Group of Institutions, Venkateshwara Group of Institutions, and Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions, to the Tsunami Rehabilitation Project for AIM for Seva, Jai Infra steadily expanded its capabilities and reach. Our work also extended to MTC Bus Terminals at Saidapet, Pallavaram, and Chromepet in the early 2000s, along with electrical works and infrastructure projects, adding another dimension to our expertise.
We have undertaken projects across Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, and various other parts of Tamil Nadu, carrying forward the experience, relationships, and values that have shaped us.
Today, we are proud to welcome the next generation into the business. Mr. M. Jayakumar, son of our Founder, has joined Jai Infra with a vision to take the company forward, expanding our reach, embracing diverse projects, and bringing a fresh, modern approach to the way we do business.
With a new generation comes a new way of thinking. Mr. Jayakumar brings a contemporary perspective to the business, embracing technology, modern business practices, and the digital world while building upon the foundation created by the generation before him. What began in the late 1980s as a simple pursuit of finding a way forward has grown into a legacy we are proud to carry forward, strengthened by the experience of the past, shaped by the present, and driven by the vision of the future.
